During the early 1920s, Brooklyn's elite Hamilton Club closely examined Worcester, Massachusetts, for its industrial relations policies, viewing it as a model for urban prosperity. The study highlights the roles of engineers, open-shoppers, Americanizers, and propagandists in shaping Worcester's development and promoting its image as a 'city of prosperity.'
