This editorial summarizes several key changes in resuscitation skills and sequences recommended in the 2005 AHA Guidelines for CPR and ECC, as well as the key factors that contributed to the “tipping point.” The latter refers to the point at which information and discussion either triggered support for major changes in the guidelines or reaffirmed existing recommendations.
