Abstract

Objective: Mah-jong seizure is a rare reflex seizure with uncertain pathogenesis. Case Report: A 65 year-old diabetic male had mah-jong seizures. His series electroencephalography (EEG) over eight years were from normal at first and turning to focal slowing at left temporal region and spike in left frontal region later. His brain computer angiography disclosed vessel stenosis. Conclusion: To our knowledge, our patient is the case of mah-jong seizure with longest following up. We infer his mah-jong seizures related to insufficient brain blood supply owing to impaired cerebral autoregulation when more energy supply needed while he was playing mah-jong. Temporal lobe may play an important role according to previous literatures findings and his EEG findings.
