Abstract

This paper reports results of theoretical studies of magnetostatic surface wave (MSSW) propagation in a photosensitive semiconductor-ferrite layer structure while the external electromagnetic wave acts on the semiconductor surface. The photoelectromagnetic effect is included in the theory. The dispersion relation of MSSW has been found and the effects of various intensities of the electromagnetic wave on the propagation characteristics have been examined. Values for CdSe and yttrium iron garnet parameters were used for computer simulation. It has been shown that the MSSW propagation loss increases, the frequency range in which the MSSW exist narrows and the group time delay decreases by a factor of 3–4 with increasing the intensity of the external wave.
