Abstract
A method for investigating the magnetomotive force (MMF) of a stator multiphase winding with arbitrary number of slots Q (including the case when Q < 1) is presented. The structure of the synchronous generator is improved using the six-phase stator windings with fractional number of slots Q per pole and phase and, as a result, the lower space and time harmonics cannot appear in the MMF curve.
