Abstract

Highly ordered ZnO nanorod arrays (NRAs) were prepared on Si substrates for the first time via magnetic-field-induced assisted water bath deposition method. The XRD analysis indicate that ZnO NRAs with the assistance of magnetic-field-induced shows the enhanced crystal quality and stronger c-axis oriented crystal structure with preferred (002) orientation than that without the assistance of magnetic-field-induced. With the assistance of magnetic-field-induced in water bath deposition process, [Zn(OH)4]2– units will get higher energy, and quickly superimposed on the polarized plane and non-polarized plane, which obtains the longer diameter and height of nanorod arrays. The PL measurement of ZnO NRAs with the assistance of magnetic-field-induced has an excellent optical property, which shall facilitate the applications of ZnO NRAs for the light-emitting diodes devices.
