Abstract

Mad City Labs designs & manufactures tools for the nanoscale suitable for photonics, inspection, microscopy, astronomy, and imaging applications. Central to our company are closed loop nanopositioning systems. Our nanopositioners are piezoactuated, flexure guided positioners with integrated PicoQ® position sensors. PicoQ® sensors yield extremely low noise and high stability enabling sub-nanometer precision. Mad City Labs also offers high precision micropositioners designed specifically for nanoscale precision. We incorporate features designed to minimize thermal drift and improve overall stability when used with our high performance nanopositioners. Our expertise in nanoscale precision – nanopositioners and modular micropositioners - places Mad City Labs in the unique position of being able to provide instruments that rely on sub-nanometer motion. This is evidenced in our SPM-M kit, and our AFM products generally. Our motion control products are combined with our MadPLL® phase lock loop controller and AFMView™ software to produce configurable and easy to use resonant probe AFMs. Not only is this a cost-effective method to add AFM capability, but it is also high performance and configurable to your application needs.
