Abstract
Organic-rich beds within the 4.68 to 4.71 and 5.17 to 5.19 m depth intervals of core MUS1 from Muskrat Bay, French River area, Ontario, and the 0.72 to 0.76 m depth interval of core DPN2, from Depensier Lake, North Bay, Ontario, have been examined for macrofossils by Paleotec Services, Ottawa. The resulting macrofossil assemblages are summarized in macrofossil reports 23-08, 04-05 and 24-08 which are presented within this Open File Report. These reports contain: background data on the examined sample; a listing the macrofossil content with an indication of relative abundance and notes on the specific remains; and text summarizing the macrofossil assemblage, key macrofossil remains and growing environment, and the interpreted environmental context of the assemblage. The macrofossil assemblages reported here have been used by other scientific papers in support of interpretations that the Huron-Georgian basins were hydrologically closed between 9.0 to 8.4 and 9.5 to 9.3 ka cal BP.
