Abstract

Drug rash with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms (DRESS), or drug-induced hypersensitivity syndrome (DiHS), is a rare, but severe adverse drug reaction. Rapid diagnosis and removal of the causative drug are critical to treatment. With the increasing use of targeted therapies, it is important to be aware of these drugs as potential causes of DRESS/DiHS. Imatinib is a tyrosine kinase inhibitor used in the treatment of various malignancies, hypereosinophilic syndrome (HES), and other eosinophilic disorders. We report a rare case of imatinib-induced DRESS/DiHS.
