Abstract
The Eu3+ singly doped and Eu3+-R+ (R=Li, Na, K) codoped BaCa2MgSi2O8 phosphors were prepared through high temperature solid state reaction technique. The phase structures, morphologies and luminescence properties were investigated. The phosphors can be excited by 396nm radiation and exhibit red emission, the most intense emission locates at 614nm. The CIE (Commission Internationale de l’Eclairage, International Commission on Illumination) chromaticity coordinates (0.659, 0.341) are very close to the NTSC (National Television Standards Committee) standard values. The influence of R+ ions on the morphology, luminescence spectra, decay curves and thermal quenching properties were discussed, the emission intensity of Eu3+-Li+ codoped phosphor is higher than that of Eu3+-Na+ or Eu3+-K+, only Li+ can enhance the emission intensity in this study.
