Abstract

The presence of relatively rich and well-preserved scolecodont assemblages in the Rotzo Member of the Noriglio Grey Limestone Formation of the Vicentinian Alps (Late Pliensbachian to Early Toarcian in age) enabled the description oof the jaw apparatus of a polychaete of the family Dorvilleidae Chamberlin, 1919, viz. Schistomeringos expectatus Szaniawski et Gaździcki, 1978. The material described so far constitutes the oldest record of this family.
