Abstract
Abstract The low temperature magnetic susceptibilities of five asbestos minerals have been measured. Amosite and crocidolite are antiferromagnetic in the liquid helium temperature range. Canadian chrysotile has Curie law behavior between 1 and 4 K. Anthophyllite and Rhodesian chrysotile have Curie-Weiss law behavior between 1 and 4 K.
