Abstract

Abstract Lousonna was a vicus of the Helvetii that developed on the shores of Lake Geneva. Its rapid development and economic growth was a result of its strategic position at the crossroad of important land and river routes leading from the south of Gaul and Italy to the Rhine provinces. The name of Lousonna appears in the Peutinger Table, the Antonine Itinerary, and several stone inscriptions.
