Abstract
The far-infrared reflectivity spectra of Mn x Cd 1− x F 2 mixed fluorides (0 ⩽ x ⩽0.26) were measured at 80 and 300 K over the spectral range 100–600 cm −1. A single reststrahlen band with some fine structure was observed. The position of this band shifts with the composition x. The MREI model was adapted to the investigated system. The long-wavelength optical phonons' frequencies were obtained and compared with model computations.
