Abstract

We studied the intracentennial variations of arctic fox migrations in the East European tundra. The most intensive and long-distance migrations were found to correspond to the periods of highest population size. To a considerable extent, the directions of migrations are determined by the specific behavioral responses of different groups of mature animals to the environmental stimuli.
