Abstract
We demonstrate a 87Rb–129Xe/131Xe atom spin gyroscope, where two stage lock-in-amplifiers are applied to measure the shift of the NMR frequency. The NMR frequency shifts and their Allan deviation are analyzed during on- and off-resonance operation. The filter effects of the lock-in-amplifiers are investigated in terms of the Allan deviation. Based on the dual species operation, we achieve an angular random walk of 1.11 deg h–1/2 for the rotation rate. The slightly off-resonance operation reveals that the NMR insensitive white noise of the 131Xe signal limits the angular random walk of our system.
