Abstract

The present article is a review of the various lenses that are used to conceptualize gender. The article traces the roots of patriarchal mindset as they shape are present day conscscience. Further, several psycholigcal perspectives shedding light on the concept are discussed. Finally, the post-modern idea that gender is socially constructed is described with due support of the research studies in the contemporary times.
