Abstract
Application of the silver staining technique to mitotic and meiotic chromosome preparations of Kalotermes flavicollis have shown: (1) four pairs of mitotic chromosomes have nucleolus organizer regions located near the centromere regions; (2) that in suitable preparations core-like structures are visible in mitotic chromosomes; (3) the sex determining mechanism.
