Abstract

Symmetry properties of peaks in two- and three-dimensional NMR spectra are described by irreducible representations of point symmetry groups. The symmetry of peaks is derived from factorizations in terms of basic patterns and lower dimensional spectra. Procedures are indicated for the symmetry decomposition of peak multiplets.
