Abstract

By the time you read this, summer will be upon us and many of you will already be on holiday, hopefully somewhere warm and sunny, chilling out on a white sand beach, and trying hard to get away from it all for a couple of weeks. I can't blame you! After all, no matter how much you love your job, and how much satisfaction it affords you, working with young children is also hard work, so it is only natural that you should feel the need to recharge your batteries from time to time. What's more, having a break means you will come back refreshed, relaxed and energized, so the children in your care will ultimately benefit. No excuse not to take a holiday then, and no reason to feel guilty as you lie basking in the hot sun, holding a pinã-colada in one hand and a good book in the other.
