Abstract

The objective of this research is to analyze the German literature and its authors during the Nazi period and the subsequent years to the Germany capitulation. The writers must be divided in at least three main categories: the emigrants, authors of the exile literature; the writers who had remained in Germany during the Nazi period, even though many of them had they books burnt, and those called the new generation authors, who had initiated their literary life after the war. Between the exiled authors there were the ones who had returned to Germany and the ones that had not came back later to the called Federal Republic of Germany. This generated a sensible change in German literature. It would have passed by a restart, taking in consideration the caledl Stunde Null (zero hour), as some authors see it, or Kahlschagsliteratur (wasted land literature), called this way by Weyrauch, or would it be only a sequence of the Republic of Weimar literature? In this work, is is also be discussed about the Kurzgeschichte short narrative) and its development after the first year post war, about the magazine Der Ruf (The call) and about the formation of the Group 47.
