Abstract

Biomaterials In article number 2205709, Christian C. Schreib, Omid Veiseh, and co-workers explore how lipid deposition affects the way the body responds to implanted biomaterials. They discover that certain types of phospholipids tend to accumulate on immune-evasive implants, while different sets of fatty acid lipids deposit on immunogenic implants. These lipids directly impact the transcriptome of macrophages found on the surface of the implant materials.
