Abstract
Oleic acid esterification has been performed in a stirred batch reactor by lipase from Mucor miehei in solvent free system and in supercritical carbon dioxide. The reaction rate was influenced by temperature and reaction media. Future research will be concentrated on the influence of the process parameters on final conversion, initial velocity, enzyme stability and on fractionation of the product from the substrates and scaling up of the production process.
