Abstract

We study the temperature dependence of the mobility for elasticscattering in quantum wells. Due to anomalous screening intwo-dimensional systems the mobility decreases linearly withtemperature. The parameter for this linear temperaturedependence is a function of well width and of carrier density. It is expressed in terms of the density dependence of the formfactor for finite width effects and by the local-fieldcorrection for many-body effects (exchange and correlation). Weargue that alloy-disorder scattering should lead to the lineartemperature dependence of the mobility.
