Abstract
We study the temporal stability of the Orr–Sommerfeld and Squire equations in channels with turbulent mean velocity profiles and turbulent eddy viscosities. Friction Reynolds numbers up to ones, and contain nearly all the kinetic energy at the instant of maximum amplification.
