Abstract

Internet of Things (IoT) emerged as a huge network of physical objects while extending the traditional internet devices. Cisco reported that there should be 50 billion internet-connected devices by 2020. IoT devices provide sensitive information but its rapid growth poses security challenges i.e. DDoS attacks, identity theft, social engineering attack, etc. By taking into account resource limitation (short storage memory, less processing power) of IoT devices several solutions are proposed but still have a lack of security. We proposed a lightweight secure authentication solution for accessing IoT application resources. One Time Password (OTP) and Token are used for authentication of a client before granting of resources. Firstly, the Client registers itself with an authentication server for the creation of credentials. Secondly, after a successful login with created credentials One Time Password (OTP) is required for further client verification. The proposed solution provides successfully ToT application resources to authentic users only.
