Abstract

A study was conducted in Namakkal district of Tamilnadu, India to understand the estimate the technological needs of poultry farmers with reference to the light, seasonal management and other general management of poultry farming activities as perceived by the farmers, extension personnel and technology developers. Simple and viable technology for summer management to avoid heat stroke and production loss, standardized light management technique, less stressful bird shifting methodology, least cost technique to manage power failure, preventing rain water splashing in raised platform sheds and fly control were the technological needs identified.
