Abstract
The purpose of this research was to document relationship among available light, ramet size, flower number, and fruit production within patches of two forest understory species, Smilacina racemosa and S. stellata. This system presented an opportunity to study effects of microsite heterogeneity on growth and reproduction in co-occurring congeners that likely have experienced similar selective forces historically, and to compare results among sites
