Abstract
This article presents an analysis of the libertarian collectivisations developed during the Spanish civil war (1936–1938). The examination of this historical experience is relevant to social psychology (the power of social situation), labour psychology (the workers’ participation), and political psychology (ideology and collective action). The structure, organization, and internal functioning of the collectivisations are described and an explanation is given to account why this collectivistic movement is widely ignored in the literature. Some possible implications of this anarchist experience both for the current organization of industry and society in the present neoliberal hegemony as well as for research on the individualism-collectivism dimension are suggested.

Este artículo pretende estudiar las colectivizaciones libertarias que tuvieron lugar en España en los años 1936-1938, analizando su extensión, sus características, las causas de que sean tan desconocidas siendo un fenómeno históricamente tan relevante, las razones de su eficacia, así como su funcionamiento interno. Se subraya igualmente la relevancia de esta experiencia para la psicología social (especialmente como ejemplo del poder de la situación), para la psicología del trabajo (importancia de la participación de los trabajadores en la empresa) y para la psicología política (ideología y acción colectiva). Finalmente, se sugiere la utilización de la memoria de esta experiencia para hacer frente a la actual hegemonía neoliberal dentro de dos aspectos importantes en la psicología social actual como son la dimensión individualismo-colectivismo y la participación de los trabajadores en la empresa
