Abstract

Yann-Ber Kalloc’h’s letters to his mother. Yann-Ber Kalloc’h is one of the greatest Breton poets. His collection ; Ar en Deulin, published in 1921 is a master-piece. Here are edited twenty-nine letters and post-cards written by the poet to his mother during the first World War. His use of the Breton language, in his poetry, conforms to the so called Vannetais standard. On the other hand he wrote to his mother in the local dialect of Groix, his birth-place, a dialect well known now thanks to Ternes’ works. Written Breton texts in such local dialects are very scarce, popular writers traditionaly conformed to standards. — Texts are edited together with a phonemic transcription in the same system as in Ternes’ works.
