Abstract
The Entry and the Stay of Louis XIII in Toulouse in November 1621. In November 1621, the young king Louis XIII, who had just besieged Montauban, stayed in Toulouse. The capitouls organized a royal entry in his honor during which the procession, made up of the court and public authorities, followed a path punctuated with triumphal arches. This political festival gave the capitouls the illusion of sharing power, and gave the king the chance to assert his power and to renew his contract of fidelity with the city.
