Abstract

This excellent pediatric textbook, originally created by Dr. Feer, continues to preserve the high standard and reputation that it has enjoyed for many years. The text is readable, and each chapter is prepared with much sound thinking and mature judgment. The book is arranged according to the well-known principles of a classic, standard pediatric textbook. At the end is an 18 page table of drugs that are useful in pediatric practice, with indications for their use and proper dosage. This is a helpful feature, which is rarely found in American texts. The illustrations are well chosen and of good quality. The only adverse criticism one might offer concerns the binding of the book. Although printed on good paper, a feature not always found in European textbooks, the binding is poor and, one is afraid, won't withstand much handling.
