Abstract

On the first results of the population census of 1982 in Midi-Pyrénées. According to the first available data, the region's population growth was lower than the national rate, urban population growth decreased, a new distribution trend appeared in the cities with absolutes decreases of population in the inner cores and a maintained extension of the outer suburban rings, larger population losses were registered in industrial towns and rural population decline has not stopped.
