Abstract

The article studies, analyzes and clarifies the status of the development of teaching staff in the engineering sector at universities in the Mekong Delta region according to capacity approach. The implementation of “Comprehensive fundamental education reform” and the fourth industrial revolution have considerably affected quality assurance in education and training, especially, in technical training fields to provide the labor market with high-quality technical workers. This requires leaders and education managers at universities to adopt strategies and policies to strongly develop necessary competencies of faculty, especially technical lecturers to meet the recruiting requirements and the employment of technical human resources. The Mekong Delta region is not excluded from this development, so the research on the current status of the development of technical staff at universities will help with direction and find appropriate, effective and feasible solutions for this management.
