Abstract

This article reports the findings from the BCVA congress workshop discussing left displaced abomasum (LDA) treatment methods. The aim of this workshop was to discuss the various described approaches to surgical correction, advantages and disadvantages for the different treatment methods and learn from the participants' knowledge, experience and expertise. Twenty-six cattle veterinary surgeons took part in the workshop with a mix of male/female participants and years of experience. Participants practiced in Europe, Australia and North America; all contributed to the discussion and gave their consent for the workshop to be recorded. This article is a report of the knowledge and opinions shared by the participants after a brief introduction regarding the different surgical approaches.
