Abstract

This article outlines why one might want to get certified to teach Latin at the secondary school level as well as the steps involved in the certification process. Its intended audience includes current secondary school teachers, prospective ones, and those individuals involved directly or indirectly in the professional and/or academic training of current or future Latin teachers. The author draws upon her experience directing the M.A. program in Latin Adolescent Education at Hunter College in New York City.
