Abstract

An investigation was made of stimulated Raman scattering (STRS) conversion of laser radiation in compressed hydrogen in a capillary with an internal diameter of 140μ. Conversion of visible radiation of limited power (0.1–1 MW) to the infrared range up to 7.2μ was achieved for the first time. A study was made of the energy characteristics of the first four Stokes components of STRS in hydrogen as a function of its pressure and of the pump energy.
