Abstract

Abstract On the basis of the municipal budgets, and thanks to some simple statistical indicators, an analysis of the trends of the municipal economy since the return to democracy is proposed. The study underlines the main characteristics of the financial situation of the municipalities. It also points up several levels of segregation between the districts of the capital. Finally, it shows the urgency of further reflection and action upon the tools of economic and financial management of the local governments.
