Abstract

This study focuses on the LED flexible sterilization light source at 280 nm wavelength, and the adjustment of the thickness and area dimensions of the heat dissipation substrate to explore the thermal behavior. The empirical results indicated the priority order for factors affecting the heat dissipation of the substrate to be k > A > t. At the same time, a large-area, flexible, deep-ultraviolet light-emitting diode (DUV LED) was successfully obtained with an area of 5 × 5 cm2 and a 3 cm bending diameter. This sterilization light source was used to carry out the sterilization inactivation test with Escherichia coli. The sterilization rate reached 95% in 60 s. The good sterilization rate and flexibility of the sterilization light source will improve the sterilization performance of the applied product.
