Abstract

Objectives To compare the efficacy and safety d laparoscopic and open radical prostatectomy for patients with localized prostate cancer. Methods Two reviewer independently assessed the quality of included studies and extracted data. We analyzed the data using Review Manager 5.0. Results We identified 14 comparslive studies, meta analysis results showed that, there was no sihnificant difference between LRP and RRP in positive margin rate [RR =1.16, 95%CI (0.92, 1.44)] and complication rate[RR =0.77, 95%CI (0.47, 1.26)], significant difference was existed in overall transfusion rate [RR = 0.11, 95 % CI (0.03, 0.41)], estimated blood loss [MD= - 729.19, 95%CI (- 1014.58, - 443.81)] , operative time [MD =90.02, 95%CI (82.27, 97. 78)],Length of stay[MD=-2.81,95%CI(-5.07, -0.55)].Conclusions Our results suggest that, compared with open radical prostatectomy, laparoscopic radical prostatectomy are associated with decreased overall transfusion rate, length of stay and estimated blood loss, similar risk of positive margin rate, while with increased op-erative time.
