Abstract
In this work we developed theoretical model for thermal lens (TL) effect in weakly absorbing medium using Laguerre Gaussian (LG) mode. We investigated intensity variation of TL by LG mode including the aberrant nature of the lens produced in the sample. The results are then used to calculate the optimum position of sample placing where thermal signal is maximum. The multiple optimum positions of sample are observed in comparison with fundamental Gaussian mode.
