Abstract

The article describes the historically induced linguistic division of the Ladin language region in Italy that has been decisively deepend due its administrative tripartite division. As the Ladin language is spoken only by a very small number of speakers, the author underlines the necessity of a unified language planning and standardization in order to preserve its vitality.
