Abstract
An exercise designed to provide effective practice in specified areas of laboratory management is described. This student project was incorporated into an existing course in the medical technology curriculum. Completion of the project required students to prepare work schedules and budgets, order supplies, assign personnel tasks according to varying educational levels, and formulate recommendations concerning equipment, supplies, methods and personnel requirements for a simulated clinical laboratory.
