Abstract

This chapter explores the Dual-Tone Multi-Frequency (DTMF) digital processing system built in the LabVIEW graphical programming environment. For creating a keypad or cluster control as shown in block diagram (BD) of a DTMF system, the buttons are grouped into a cluster so that their outputs are wired via a cluster wire. This is achieved by placing a cluster shell on the front panel (FP), and then by locating the text buttons in the cluster area. The keypad cluster control is shown as an icon on the BD of DTMF system. The virtual instrument (VI) generates a tone depending on the number pressed on the keypad in the FP. The DTMF decoder based on the Goertzel algorithm is present in the lower half of the BD. In order to build the BD, the output value of the cluster is wired to an array by using the cluster to array function.
