Abstract

Abstract Problems concerning mycorrhizal symbiosis. – In this report the author, after having considered the concept of mycorrhizal symbiosis, describes the principal morphological caracteristics of the ectotrophic and endotrophic mycorrhizae. He is particularly concerned with the macroscopic and microscopic aspects in the broad leaved trees, conifers, and in the graminaceae. The physiological mechanisms of the single structures are treated only very briefly. In the description of the processes involved in the formation of the association within the rhizosphere, the author refers to the isolation of an interesting microorganism isolated from the rhizosphere and the relationships of the microorganism with the fungal symbiont.
