Abstract

The article considers Thomas Hobbes’s De Corpore as a complement to René Descartes’ Discourse of Method. For this purpose the essential characteristics of modern philosophy are presented. Then, Hobbes’s text is analyzed. Finally, it is demonstrated that De Corpore, Hobbes’s “discourse of method” complements that of Descartes.
