Abstract
"Geography of The Information Society : Between extremes". This article is devoted to an analysis of the scientific areas confronted with the eruption of a "separating object" or, in other terms, an object that is relatively ambiguous to the properties discussed : “ Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs)”. Are we being witness to the emergence of Information Society Geography ? Is the Information Society an object to be apprehended by geographers and, if so, under what conditions ? These are the main questions that the author poses through a look at the long, complex assimilation of these objects into a specific scientific body, that of human geography.
