Abstract

This research deals with a fundamental issue, which is the development of translation theory in several periods, and how it crystallized into a new topic that attracted the attention of many interested people in this regard, including theorists, writers, philosophers, and academics. In the research, we dealt with the most prominent ideas and theories affecting the crystallization of systematic attempts to come up with a formulation that delineates the features of this new topic, whether as an independent science or as a linguistic study that linguists have taken as the main approach in their comparative approaches between the linguistic structures of different languages. Some of the theorists defending the issue of translation tended to formulate main axes to be relied upon in the study and criticism of translation, relying on previous research as well as on their personal experiences as translators.
