Abstract

Osteoporosis and related fragility fractures are a serious medical and socio-economic problem that is frequently underestimated. Patients with fragility fractures are at high risk for further fractures, but awareness and cooperation of clinicians about this problem are still lacking. As a result, diagnostic and treatment procedures to implement the prevention of new fractures are at present inadequate.
