Abstract

The study discusses the means used in the translation process by Jan Andrzej Morsztyn to transform Pierre Corneille’s Le Cid, so as to fit the cultural context of Polish Sarmatism and become an instrument of propaganda of the French presence on the Polish throne and reinforcement of the king’s power.
